Hospital Emergency Food Supply Planning
Guidance and toolkit for coordinating, documenting emergency food supplies

Live Webinar Recorded May 30, 2013

CHA’s Hospital Preparedness Program (CHA-HPP) has released the California Hospital Emergency Food Supply Planning Guidance and Toolkit to help hospitals meet mandated regulatory requirements when planning for and documenting emergency food supplies. This free webinar provides an overview of the toolkit and its use.

The  toolkit was developed through the Hospital Emergency Food Advisory Group, which included representatives from the California Dietetic Association, hospital nutrition managers and directors, and hospital emergency preparedness coordinators. It is intended for use by hospital food services directors and/or hospital dietitians. CHA also recommends that hospital emergency planners review and become familiar with the resources for joint planning purposes.

It includes, along with the video recording:

  • Planning guidelines and assumptions, regulatory references and other resources to support planning efforts
  • Emergency food planning calculation tool, enabling users to calculate facility-specific plans using facility-specific data
  • Instructional PowerPoint presentation

For these items and additional information, visit the CHA-HPP website at
