Sis Connolly
Volunteer, John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus, Walnut Creek, California

Retired from a career as an elementary and middle school teacher, Sis Connolly “discovered” the John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek while looking for something meaningful to do in her new community, upon her family’s return to the Bay Area.  She has been a volunteer at John Muir Medical Center ten years, serving weekly as a Surgery Desk volunteer, as well as an Auxiliary leader.

Her Auxiliary responsibilities have included Vice President, Community Relations 2006-2007, Vice President, Membership 2008-2009 and President 2010-2012.  Sis was a member of the 2011 CAHHS Committee on Volunteer Services, helping to plan the 2012 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference in San Francisco.  Currently, she serves on the Auxiliary Executive Committee, is the Surgery Desk Volunteer Department Chairperson and will be President of the East Bay Council of Hospital Volunteers in 2014.  She maintains close ties to the John Muir Health Foundation, having served on their Board of Directors during her Auxiliary presidency.

At John Muir Walnut Creek, Sis has focused on meeting the needs of the medical center, both within the hospital and outside in the community, and enhancing the experience of the patient and the patient’s family.
