Sandra worked at Stanford University Medical Center for the past nine years as the Director for the award-winning Patient Safety Program for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford providing leadership in the areas of patient safety and quality outcomes. Additionally she was involved on a national and international level in patient safety research and collaborated with other children’s hospitals to implement best practices in the areas of infection reduction, enhanced communication and medication safety. Prior to 2003, Sandra worked at Stanford University, Stanford Hospitals and Clinics, UCSF/Stanford Healthcare, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Mills Peninsula Hospital. Sandra is a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist and she has a bachelor’s degree in Human Health Biology and Clinical Chemistry and a master’s degree in Business Administration.
