Marci Koester
Volunteer, Adventist Health/Feather River Hospital, Paradise

Marci retired in Paradise, California in 2000 after 18 years as a legal secretary in a major Silicon Valley law firm. Prior to 1983, for 10 years she worked as an Administrative Executive Secretary in two major hospitals located in Palo Alto and Mountain View, California. 

In 2006 she joined the Feather River Hospital Auxiliary as a volunteer at the Hospital Courtesy Desk and in 2010 transferred to Hospital’s Anticoagulation Clinic where she currently works as a volunteer.  In 2007 she was elected as the Feather River Auxiliary President-Elect and in 2008 became the Auxiliary President. 

As a volunteer officer, Marci took interest in the purpose and objectives of the Mount Shasta Area Council (MSAC) and attended several meetings prior to becoming the Council Secretary.  She went on to be named President-Elect and in 2012 became the Council’s President through 2014.

The work, success and growth of MSAC was acknowledged by CAHHS and in 2012 Marci was asked to serve on the CAHHS Committee on Volunteer Services (COV) and as a Region Adviser.  She continues to be actively involved on the MSAC Board and on the COV where she enjoys conference planning, working with other COV members, and interacting with Northern California auxiliaries as a region representative.
