Linda Groobin
Program Manager, Caring Hands, John Muir Health, Walnut Creek, California

Linda is a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a B.S. in Organizational Behavior.

After 32 years of management experience with AT&T, Linda began her second career working with seniors, her true passion.  She has 14 years of non-profit program management and volunteer recruitment experience.

She is currently the Program Manager for Caring Hands, a program of John Muir Health.  Their mission is to assist seniors to remain independent and in their own homes as long as safely possible while helping to alleviate the growing issue of isolation and loneliness.

Linda has served as Program Manager for the Senior Nutrition Program, a program of Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services.  She served as Program Manager of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) a program of the Volunteer Center of the East Bay and has managed a Home Safety for Seniors program.

She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging and serves on the Senior Mobility Action Committee whose goal is to insure seniors will be able to get around after they no longer drive.

During her off time she enjoys singing with UC Alumni Chorus and the Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church Choir and spending time with her rescue puppies, Roxy and Chase.

Linda says, “It is proven that volunteering adds years to your life.”
