Lilly Stamets
Retired Manager, Gift Shops, UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, California

Prior to UCSF, she conducted the “start-up” and management of the Manager of Gift Galleries for new Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and Hospital in Santa Clara and also served as the Retail Services Manager for the El Camino Hospital retail stores including Maternal Connections and Lactation Services.  

Lilly’s retail philosophy of patient centric “Merchandising to the Mission” of the hospital has broadened the scope and success of hospital gift shops.

Her passion for the hospital gift shop industry is represented by serving on the California Association of Hospitals and Healthcare Systems (CAHHS) Retail Committee and Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP) Retail Committee. She is a founding member of the new UCSF Medical Center Auxiliary named UCSF Partner’s In Care. She is a frequent guest speaker at San Francisco State University Business School, Hospital Industry Leadership Conferences and Industry Trade and Gift Shows and Webinars.

She brings a wealth of experience both in specialty retail and corporate events to her position, devoting over 15 years of experience specializing in retail “startups” and “turn-arounds” in both for profit and not for profit retail.

She has served on the boards of the Academy Stores at the California Academy of Sciences, Maritime Park Association, Fashion Group, Inc. and many others.

Lilly holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Textiles and Clothing from Ohio State University.

Lilly and her husband enjoy season tickets to the San Francisco Giants and landscaping/gardening at their home in Mill Valley.
