Ken Wong
Volunteer Healthy Living Instructor, 30th Street Senior Center, San Francisco, California

Ken Wong volunteers as a coordinator for the Healthier Living program — a collaboration of San Francisco agencies that provide health education workshops to a diverse older adult population.

Developed by Stanford University, the workshops teach adults with chronic conditions to better self manage their health. The program trains volunteers to lead the workshops, which are offered in English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Korean and Tagalog. Funding for the program comes from the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services and 30th Street Senior Center.

Ken has been facilitating Healthier Living workshops since 1993 after attending one at Stanford to learn to better manage his own health conditions. He retired from Chevron in 2008 from a career in Information Technology and Finance.
