Karen Quinn
Manager, Volunteer Services, St. Joseph's Medical Center, Stockton, California

Karen has been St. Joseph’s Volunteer Manager nearly 24 years.  In 1978, she earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University Fresno, and later became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  She began her career at St.

Joseph’s in 1978 as their first Oncology Social Worker, was co-founder of Stockton’s community based Hospice of San Joaquin, and later implemented an Employee Assistance Program for the hospital.   She also worked for the American Cancer Society’s region/division office for five years where she learned much about volunteer management. She returned to work at St. Joseph’s as its first Volunteer Manager in 1990.  She is a member of NCADVS and has served on its Board of Directors.
