Julie Roth
Senior Executive Assistant, Adventist Health, Roseville, California

Julie Roth served for nine years as the Regional Director of Volunteer Services for St. Helena Hospital and the Northern California Network of Adventist Health, based in the Napa Valley. Currently Julie serves as senior executive assistant/volunteer coordinator at Adventist Health’s Corporate Office in Roseville, California.  Her goal is to build collaboration and synergy among the volunteer leaders who serve the 18 hospital-system.

While at St. Helena, Julie oversaw volunteer programs at facilities in Clearlake, Vallejo, and St.Helena; facilitated a partnership with Pacific Union College to develop spiritual care and music therapy volunteer programs; opened a new cancer center boutique; and oversaw the management of two gift shops, a thrift shop, and the local Lifeline Program.

She began her career in volunteer service at the age of 14, working as a candy striper for three summers in a long-term care facility in her home town of Las Vegas. While in college she spent two years as a volunteer teaching English as a second language in Seoul, Korea, and Hat Yai, South Thailand. Her commitment to community service continues to this day…volunteering at her church’s local radio station doing online programming and station management.

Julie has a bachelor’s degree in management and believes the role of volunteer leader is the best job in the world: “Where else do you have so many staff members who come to work every day without expecting a paycheck, and who give great smiles and hugs!”
