Volunteer Resource Manager, Consultant, LINC Volunteers, Long Beach, California

Ian is a recognized trainer and consultant in volunteer resource management within the community development sector and has designed and facilitated workshops for national technical support organizations since 2007. He manages LINC Volunteers, a social enterprise that provides workshops, management and consulting to nonprofit and government agencies that are looking for community solutions to the challenges they face.

As LINC Housing’s Volunteer Resource Manager, Ian empowers community members to serve as youth education, health & wellbeing, job skill and administrative volunteers throughout the organization. He oversees a volunteer management system with 29 site locations throughout California. He also is charged with training employees who act as volunteer supervisors and developing policies that guide the operations of this program. Ian was instrumental in designing LINC’s industry-leading volunteer program and his work continues to expand their efforts to provide affordable housing and resident services for at-risk populations.

Ian lives by the motto that a life is only as important as the impact it has on other lives. Prior to his time at LINC, Ian served as a LISC AmeriCorps member where he laid the foundation for LINC’s volunteer program as well as designed and implemented a tutoring system for after-school programs in Santa Ana. He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing. He is Certified in Volunteer Administration through the CCVA.
