Hector Moreno Rojas
Volunteer, Department of Emergency Medicine, LAC + USC Medical Center, Los Angeles

Hector is a full time student at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in Kinesiology and Health Promotion. He is an active volunteer at the LAC+USC Medical Center Emergency Room volunteering the graveyard shift on Sundays and has contributed more than 1,000 hours of volunteer services from March 2010 to present. In addition to his weekly commitment, Hector assists the Director of Volunteer Services and the Volunteer Program Coordinators with the monthly general orientation/training to all Volunteer Programs’ applicants.  He also assists, on a monthly basis with the ER Area Specific Training to the new DEM volunteers.

Hector is an active member of the Cal Poly organization Hermanos Unidos. Through his work with Hermanos Unidos, he strives to break negative Latino stereotypes and become a positive influence in the Latino community.

Hector is dependable, hardworking, and compassionate and this has earned him the respect, appreciation, and gratitude of patients, volunteers, and staff.
