Brenda Rusnak is a healthcare entrepreneur, film producer, social advocate, and mother of five.

Brenda began her career as a physiotherapist with a special interest in healthy aging. From there she founded a healthcare company that grew to become a multi-million dollar business.

At age 50, Brenda sold her business and was heading for retirement when her oldest daughter approached her with an idea for a documentary film. Brenda agreed to come on as the producer and thus began a brand new career.

“Cyber-Seniors” documentary was released in 2014, and has played to sold out audiences and critical acclaim in over 150 cities throughout North America. This heartwarming, humorous film follows the extraordinary journey of several senior citizens as they discover the magic of the world-wide-web, through the guidance of teenaged mentors.

In January 2015, Brenda founded the “Cyber-Seniors : Connecting Generations” campaign. This national initiative brings together students wanting to make a difference in their community (and earn community service hours) with older adults looking for help in advancing their technology skills, in order to bridge the digital divide.

Throughout her career Brenda has regularly appeared on television and radio talk shows and is often invited to speak at conferences and seminars on a variety of topics. She has been published numerous times in consumer magazines, newspapers and professional journals. Brenda is also a contributing author of a booked entitled “Fundamentals of Disability Management” – 1997, edited by Anne Leckie. In 2000, she was the recipient of the “Who’s Who In Healthcare Technology” award sponsored by several healthcare and technology partners including Microsoft Canada, Benefits Canada and Canadian Healthcare Manager magazines. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate an exceptional level of leadership and vision, and whose unique approach has made a positive impact in their field.
