Overview

2014 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference
Demonstrations - February 20, 2014

For generations, hospital and community volunteers have knitted, crocheted and sewn handmade comfort items for hospital patients and their families.  Pinkie the puppet,  cloth dolls, infant burial garments, baby hats/layettes, NICU isolette covers, lap robes, quilts, wheelchair bags, heart pillows and head scarves are just a few of the many examples.  At the 2014 California Hospital  Volunteer Leadership Conference, Bonnie Hagerman, founder of Care Wear will present a workshop highlighting the knitting, crocheting and sewing arts insupport of hospital patients and their families.

In addition, Bonnie will serve as a mentor in the exhibit hall on Thursday, Feb. 20, where live “how to” demonstrations will feature a variety of handmade items that provide comfort to hospital patients of all ages.

Demonstration volunteers are needed to staff this area.  If you or someone you know  knits, crochets, sews or makes other comfort items for patients and their families, and can demonstrate the skill at the 2014 conference, please complete the form below for more information about volunteering.
