HHS Issues Final Regulation on Anti-Kickback Statute and Civil Monetary Penalty Rules

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) has issued a final rule revising safe harbors under the anti-kickback statute, as well as civil monetary penalty rules for beneficiary inducements. The regulations are effective Jan. 19, 2021.

CMS to Host Call on Stark Law Final Rule

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will hold a Special Open Door Forum on Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. (PT) to discuss its  final rule to modernize and clarify the regulations that interpret the Medicare physician self-referral law, also known as the Stark Law.

Department of Fair Employment and Housing Provides FAQ on New Pay Data Reporting Law

Last week, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing issued frequently asked questions to assist employers in complying with a new law on pay data (government code 12999/Senate Bill 973) that takes effect on Jan. 1, 2021, and requires reporting no later than March 31, 2021.

OSHPD Clarifies Grace Period for Temporary Work for COVID-19 Until March 1
For CEOs, COOs, facilities managers, government relations staff

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) has posted to its COVID-19 Resources web page the clarification that an OSHPD permit is not required for temporary changes or use of modifications to the physical environment for COVID-19 during the period of California Department of Public Health All Facilities Letter 20-26.3, which is in place until March 1, 2021, unless extended.
