Valley Alzheimer’s advocates welcome research funds

The Obama administration’s decision to spend millions of dollars for Alzheimer’s research couldn’t come at a better time, say advocates for people with the disease and their families in the central San Joaquin Valley. “The sooner we can bring some effective treatment to people who have the disease, the better,” said Linda J. Hewett, senior psychologist at the UCSF Alzheimer’s and Memory Center in Fresno. “And the sooner we can find prevention, the better.”
