UCI to close sleep center
Orange County Register - Courtney Perkes

UC Irvine Medical Center’s sleep center will close Friday after more than 30 years treating sleep disorders. The closure was triggered by the departure of the program’s director, Dr. Marcel Hungs, coupled with not enough patients to pay for the program. The Center for Sleep Medicine was one of the first in the nation to receive accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and treated sleep apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome, according to UCI.
