Members of the California Nurses Association have ratified a new contract that gives nurses a 16 percent wage increase over the next four years. Longtime nurses may qualify for up to 8 percent more. The pact covers almost 12,000 registered nurses at five UC student health centers and five UC medical centers, including about 2,000 workers at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Contract negotiations began in March. A tentative agreement was announced Nov. 17.
