TRMC may add bond oversight committee

The Tulare Regional Medical Center appears to be changing its mind on establishing a public committee to oversee the $55 million general obligation bond it is asking residents of the Tulare Local Health Care District to approve.

When the TRMC board voted May 3 to place the bond issue on the ballot for August 30, a bond oversight committee was not included. They have become fixtures of many bond and tax elections. Instead, hospital CEO Dr. Benny Benzeevi said there would be a website containing the construction work schedule and related items. It would, he said, be a “bond oversight community.”
