SVMH pharmacy unrest prompts new contract
The Californian - Salinas

Prompted in part by a potential merger as well as dissatisfaction expressed by some of its pharmacy employees, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital management has retooled its contract with its third-party pharmacy-services provider.

The original contract with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services was signed in 2009 with then-Chief Executive Officer Sam Downing. Last month, CEO Pete Delgado and the hospital’s board negotiated a new contract with CPS that reflects issues the pharmacy staff brought to management, as well as an added clause that addresses a merger or acquisition.
