Supreme Court should support health care act

Three days of Supreme Court debate over the landmark health care law dissected the ingredients of President Obama’s signature accomplishment. But the hearings also delineated the makeup and views of the high court, a group as deeply divided and politicized as the rest of the country over the law. The heart of the fight was, of course, the individual mandate, a requirement that all Americans – actually the 30 million to 50 million without insurance – purchase coverage or pay a penalty for the free ride they get from public health programs.
