Supervisors to take up Medi-Cal funding initiative
Daily Republic

Solano County supervisors on Tuesday will consider taking a position on the Medi-Cal Funding and Accountability Act of 2016, which has qualified for the November ballot.

The initiative requires two-thirds voter approval because it amends the California Constitution to require the state to use certain hospital contributions for children’s health needs, the campaign for the initiative reports.

The only way the funds can be used for other purposes, if the initiative passes, is by voter approval, said Kevin Riggs, a spokesman for the campaign.
