State tries to shorten wait times to see a doctor

Ever waited more than 10 days for a non-urgent appointment with your primary care doctor or 15 days for a specialist? Well, those days may soon be over. State officials are expected to announce today new limits for how long HMOs and their doctors can make patients wait for appointments, making California the first state in the country to regulate such waiting periods.
