State readies to enroll millions into health insurance

College student Estephana Arroyo has viewed her choices for health care plans and says she has a better solution.

“I plan to stay healthy,” the 18-year-old anthropology major at Pierce College said last week. “Honestly, I don’t really know what else to do. I’m on my own and I can’t afford it.” Across campus, Philippe Aubuchon, 57, has health insurance through Pierce College where he is employed as a performing arts technician. He said he’s curious to see if the plans listed on California’s marketplace exchange provide better coverage for less money.
