State providers preparing to comply with Affordable Care Act

After months of high-octane waiting, California’s health-care providers, insurers and state officials say Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act finally gives them the signal to fully implement the law. The individual insurance mandate that was the heart of the court challenge will start in 2014, expanding coverage to about 5 million Californians who now don’t have any health coverage.
