Stanford med school names medical director for cancer center

The Stanford University School of Medicine said Monday it’s named Douglas Blayney, M.D., as medical director of the Stanford Cancer Center, effective July 1, filling a two-year vacancy.

Blayney, a medical oncologist, will be the Ann and John Doerr medical director of the cancer center; he is currently medical director of the University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
