Dr. Colin Bucks, a Stanford Hospital emergency room physician and disaster preparedness leader who returned to the United States from Liberia late Friday night is being “isolated” for 21 days “out of an abundance of caution,” Stanford officials said early Thursday.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Bucks for his selfless act,” Stanford said, in an Oct. 30 statement on behalf of Stanford Health Care, its hospital network, and Stanford Medicine, which includes the Stanford University School of Medicine.
