SARTA’s MedStart program finds a new home
Sacramento Business Journal

A local medical technology nonprofit announced Wednesday it has taken over as a sponsor for the MedStart program, the medical technology program previously run by the Sacramento Regional Technology Alliance.

Sacramento-based Social Interest Solutions, which handles eligibility enrollment for a variety of government health insurance programs, is taking MedStart in-house with plans to continue its programs.

In a surprise move Sept. 1, SARTA shut down abruptly citing a lack of funding support. The technology networking organization has since been winding down its operations with help from volunteers — though leaders now suggest the organization may survive in some form. One of SARTA’s verticals, the AgStart program, in October found a new home in Woodland as part of a co-working space.
