Residential care expansion drives building activity
Redding Record Searchlight

An expansion of an existing assisted living residence and a new doctor’s office highlighted building activity in Redding in April.

The city’s Building Department recorded 296 permits for new construction and remodel projects worth $5.5 million, down from 325 permits and $7.8 million in March.

Building activity through April continued to lag behind 2015 levels.

Through the first four months of 2016, the number of permits issued was down 8 percent while valuation was down 43 percent compared with the same period a year ago.
