The Public Eye: State cut dooms Sacramento County’s in-home care task force
Sacramento Bee

Sacramento County is eliminating a task force responsible for oversight of In-Home Supportive Services, once called an “ATM for fraud” by a grand jury.

County leaders cite the loss of state funding as the reason for the task force’s demise. In January, the state retroactively cut $1.7 million intended for the county task force this fiscal year, which represented half of its $3.4 million budget. The rest came from the county and the federal government.
