Pharmacists brace for Medi-Cal cuts
Sacramento Business Journal

Looking into the new year, California pharmacists see red ink. The state’s long-litigated 10 percent Medi-Cal provider cut is slated to hit pharmacists Jan. 9, along with doctors and some hospital-owned skilled nursing homes. California already has one of the lowest rates in the nation, and opponents say the cut will pay many providers less than the cost of doing business. The California Pharmacists Association and a national coalition of consumers, pharmacists and business interests is gearing up to stop the cuts.
