Obama Administration Extends Antibias Protections to Transgender People Seeking Health Care
The Wall Street Journal

The Obama administration is making a nationwide push to bar discrimination against transgender people, amid an intense debate over a North Carolina law requiring people to use public bathrooms according to the gender on their birth certificates.

U.S. health officials on Friday extended antibias protections to transgender people seeking health care. Separately, federal agencies in a letter to educators said schools should allow transgender students to use the bathroom and locker facilities of their choosing, saying federal law bars discrimination against such students.
