Ten Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California – including its medical center in Roseville – have won “top hospital” designations from the Leapfrog Group, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits.

The 10 facilities were among 19 Kaiser hospitals statewide that received recognition in Leapfrog’s 2013 report, which examined records of hundreds of hospitals nationwide.

The “top hospitals” designation recognizes medical centers for success in areas that include infection rates, safety practices, mortality rates for common procedures and measures of efficiency.
