New health subcommittee chairman says he will dismantle ACA

Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) said he will use his new position as chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health to further Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.Tiberi takes the gavel formerly held by Texas Rep. Kevin Brady, who beat out Tiberi to chair the full committee after Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin was named house speaker. Tiberi, who was head of the trade subcommittee, said in a statement that he is eager to start his new assignment and plans to “dismantle detrimental policies” in the ACA.
