Natividad must reinvent itself for health reform, says consultant

Natividad Medical Center must change from an independent safety net hospital to one that provides full-service primary care if it is to survive under national health care reform. That will require both investment and cost-cutting, and likely new partnerships with other health care organizations.

That’s the assessment of a health care consultant hired to help create a strategic plan for the county-owned hospital, particularly with regard to the challenges of an overhauled national health care industry under the Affordable Care Act.
