National plan on Alzheimer’s expected

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is expected to release a national plan to address Alzheimer’s disease during a morning speech at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Summit 2012: Path to Treatment and Prevention at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.

Also expected to participate in the release of the plan, which was produced as a result of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act of 2011, are Dr. Francis Collins, director of the NIH, and Dr. Ronald Petersen, a Mayo Clinic doctor who is chairman of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer’s Research, Care and Services, which advised HHS on the plan.
