Medicare Advantage A Model For Savings, Panel Chairman Says

House Ways and Means Health subcommittee chairman Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) March 16 backed proposals to transform traditional Medicare into a program based more on market principals.

Instead of operating on a fee-for-service platform with ever increasing costs and little innovation, the program should be reformed to more closely resemble the market-driven Medicare Advantage program, Tiberi urged fellow lawmakers. Tiberi’s made his plea for the changes during a hearing on preserving and strengthening Medicare.
