The state of California’s earthquake law requires all hospitals to meet seismic standards by the year 2030. Therefore, the entire inner core of Kaweah Delta hospital, built 50 years ago, will no longer be available for acute care, that’s a loss of 273 rooms.

It is essential that a replacement acute care hospital be built in order for us to continue to provide advanced cardiac services. We have worked very hard to establish a cardiac program at Kaweah Delta, so that when you need a stent or heart surgery, you can stay close to home.

Our program has recently made significant strides; U.S. News and World Report ranked Kaweah Delta with high performance in bypass surgery (upper 14% of programs in the country).
