Lode’s ambulance regulatory agency in flux

Ambulance service in the Mother Lode may be reworked, after Stanislaus County leaders voted last week to leave the five-county partnership that oversees the region’s emergency medical services within 18 months. Stanislaus County, which has more than half a million residents — compared with a combined population of 159,000 in the other partner counties — accounts for the bulk of the Mountain Valley Emergency Medical Services Agency’s budget.
