Kaiser, union coalition hammer out deal on retiree health benefits
Sacramento Business Journal

Kaiser Permanente and its coalition of national unions reached a tentative agreement Saturday morning on a contract that resolves the tricky issue of retiree health benefits. The proposed three-year contract will cover 105,000 unionized Kaiser health-care workers in 28 local unions, making it one of the largest private-sector labor contracts in the nation. More than 32,600 of the workers covered by the deal live in Northern California; almost 5,700 are in the Sacramento region.
