GOP: Back to drawing board on health care

Republicans in Congress offered a tepid response Monday to President Obama’s call to start a new round of bipartisan talks on health care, arguing that the current Democratic legislation is unsalvageable. A day after Obama proposed a Feb. 25 meeting of Republicans and Democrats on the issue to “put their ideas on the table,” GOP lawmakers said they would take the offer to negotiate seriously only if Democrats agreed to scrap their health care plan.
