Former Sen. Bill Emmerson joins California Hospital Association
San Bernardino Sun

Bill Emmerson wasn’t unemployed for long. A week after his abrupt retirement from the state senate, Emmerson — a Republican based in Redlands — has accepted a position as senior vice president of the California Hospital Association overseeing the group’s lobbyists. State law does not allow Emmerson to lobby members of the Legislature for one year following the date of his resignation.

Instead, he will supervise the hospital association’s team of in-house and contract lobbyists and will provide political analysis and guidance, according to a news release the association sent Monday.
