Modern Healthcare

Tom Zumtobel Two executives who worked at defunct co-ops have taken roles at Melody Health Insurance, a new insurance company looking to shake up the individual market.

Tom Zumtobel has been named Melody’s president of Western markets. Previously, Zumtobel was CEO of Nevada Health CO-OP and CEO of Meritus Health Partners in Arizona. Both of those not-for-profit co-ops closed their doors at the end of 2015 because of severe financial problems.

Tracy Faigin has joined Melody as chief marketing officer. Faigin most recently was the top marketing executive at Colorado HealthOP, the lone co-op in Colorado, which closed in December and was highly critical of the state’s decision to wind down the co-op’s operations.
