First 5 Sacramento offers $5.1M for children’s health, dental and reading services
Sacramento Business Journal

First 5 Sacramento is seeking funding requests for $5.1 million available for child health, dental and school readiness services. The commission distributes funding generated by Proposition 10 tobacco taxes approved by California voters in 1998. Research shows a child’s brain develops most dramatically in the first five years and what parents and caregivers do during these years to support their child’s growth will have a meaningful impact throughout life. Proposition 10 supports children ages zero to five.
