Fewer Americans without health insurance for first time since 2007

The number of Americans without health insurance declined last year to 48.6 million, down from 50 million in 2010, according to the Census Bureau. The share of Americans without insurance dropped to 15.7 percent, compared with 16.3 percent in 2010. That’s the first drop in the uninsured rate since 2007.
