Federal health money pours in to state

Two streams of federal money are headed to California to support a massive effort to get the uninsured signed up for health care coverage next year. Covered California intends to award $37 million in federal grants to 48 organizations to educate individuals and small businesses about coverage and financial assistance available under the Affordable Care Act. Three $1 million grants landed in Sacramento, while some other grants went to organizations that will funnel money back to the region.
