Federal grant aims to improve health access for children

Federal health officials have awarded almost $6.2 million to nine organizations across California to help them identify and enroll children eligible for Medi-Cal and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

The CHIP program serves low-income kids not eligible for Medi-Cal.

Grant amounts range from $192,000 to the Lake County Tribal Health Consortium to almost $1 million to Catholic Charities of California.
