Emergency room repairs top SVMH agenda

At its meeting Thursday, the Board of Directors at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System will consider approving a contract for nearly $560,000 in improvements to the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Staff recommends approval of a contract with Mills Construction Co. to complete Phase 2 of the emergency department upgrades. The scope of work includes upgrades to the reception area, triage space, results waiting area and converting a treatment room to a sub-waiting room. Construction is projected to begin this month, once the contract is approved. The job is expected to take four months.
