Eisenhower Medical Center program seeks to fill Coachella Valley’s caregiver need

Abigail Soto, 29, stood in a hospital room at Eisenhower Medical Center, surrounded by a team of surgeons, doctors and assistants. She peered closely through her glasses at a 3D screen, holding open an incision of a single-site gall bladder surgery, fascinated by the process.

Soto, originally from Riverside and a graduate of Montemorelos Medical School in Mexico, is in an operating rotation as part of her first year in the family medicine track of Eisenhower’s new residency program, which launched in June.
