DWP workers have a better health care plan than other city employees

Even as other Los Angeles city employees may be forced soon to pay more toward their health care coverage, their counterparts at the Department of Water and Power will continue having their premiums paid entirely by their employer.

Nearly all of the utility’s 9,000 employees don’t contribute anything toward their monthly premiums, and most don’t pay co-payments when visiting a doctor, according to city officials and documents.
