What good is a lifesaving tool if a doctor refuses to use it?

That question came to mind as I read Dr. Lee T. Snook Jr.’s criticism of The Bee’s editorial stand in favor of requiring that California physicians use the state database known as Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System, or CURES, to guard against prescription drug abuse (“No quick fix for prescription drug abuse,” March 14).
